ZECHARIAH
YHWH's Return, Grace, Love and Forgiveness
Notes
-
° Zechariah's name means "Whom YHWH remembers"
° He is the son of Berechiah which means "YHWH blesses"
° Berechiah was the son of Iddo which means "The appointed time"
° Putting the genealogies together..."At the appointed time, YHWH blesses, whom YHWH remembers."
° This was an important message to God's people at at time when they were captive in a foreign land, and were looking for encouragement!
° You too are in a foreign land needing encouragement!
° God remembers you, He sees you, and He is for you in all things!
° Zechariah is so rich and is perhaps the most Messianic book in the Old Testament
° Zechariah will introduce Jesus as THE BRANCH

Zechariah 3:8 — Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at:
for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.
° The Lord will speak of:
- The Stone with seven eyes (A very curious link to Revelation)
- His Throne (and Jesus being crowned!)
- Jesus the Nazarene
- The King riding on a donkey

- His betrayal for 30 pieces of silver
