Christ's Example of Suffering

21. For even hereunto were ye called: becasue Christ also
suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

- εἰς τοῦτο γὰρ ἐκλήθητε ὅτι καὶ Χριστὸς ἔπαθεν ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν ἡμῖν ὑπολιμπάνων ὑπογραμμὸν ἵνα ἐπακολουθήσητε τοῖς ἴχνεσιν αὐτοῦ

22. Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

- ὃς ἁμαρτίαν οὐκ ἐποίησεν οὐδὲ εὑρέθη δόλος ἐν τῷ στόματι αὐτοῦ

23. Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not: but committed himself to him
that judgeth righteously:

- ὃς λοιδορούμενος οὐκ ἀντελοιδόρει πάσχων οὐκ ἠπείλει παρεδίδου δὲ τῷ κρίνοντι δικαίως·

24. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we,
being
dead
to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

- ὃς τὰς ἁμαρτίας ἡμῶν αὐτὸς ἀνήνεγκεν ἐν τῷ σώματι αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὸ ξύλον ἵνα ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις ἀπογενόμενοι τῇ δικαιοσύνῃ ζήσωμεν οὗ τῷ μώλωπι αὐτοῦ ἰάθητε

souls.
