Revelation
Chapter 1
Introduction: The Unveiling of Jesus Christ
The Revelation of Jesus Christ
-
1.↓ THE Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his
servants things which must shortly come to pass, and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
-
-
Notes
-
° Look at who gave this to Jesus
° This is a gift, almost like a personal gift from the father to the son
° Look in the opening verse, the revelation of Jesus Christ, the unveiling of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him.
° God gave it to Jesus
° It might come as a shock at first when you read "to shew his servants thing which must shortly come to pass"
° Remember in Mark 13:32, Jesus speaking, he says,
Mark 13:32 — But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
° And so at that time, there was something the Father had in his counsel that Jesus did not.
° And this book is the Father giving that to him, which is kind of crazy when you really think about it, but it's literally the Father explaining to the son all of these things that are coming, that are to come to pass
° So it's almost like a personal gift that we get to enjoy a gift from the fater to the son, and it is all to us.
